Sponsorship

What is it?
Digital DUMBO was created in 2009 to bring together the digital minds of DUMBO and the greater NYC area to network, showcase local talent and companies, educate, and facilitate idea exchange. Over the past two years Digital DUMBO has become one of the premier networking events in New York City.

Why Sponsor?
As a sponsor you are given the opportunity to showcase your company or product to some of the most influential people in our industry. Digital DUMBO sponsors have been covered in the Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, MediaPost, and many more publications.

Sponsors have used Digital DUMBO to launch companies or products, build buzz, receive feedback, or simply to associate their brand with industry tastemakers.

Who Attends?
C-level executives, entrepreneurs, college students, interns, job seekers, entire companies, hackers, investors, and anyone with an interest in all things digital. People come looking to network, to see what’s hot, to make new friends, or to simply be around interesting people.

How Many People Attend?
Digital DUMBO averages around 350 attendees per event. However, the reach of Digital DUMBO extends far beyond just those who attend. We have a very loyal and engaged community that tweets, blogs, and organically spreads the word about our events. To see what companies have been represented in the past, visit digitaldumbo.eventbrite.com and look at our most recent RSVP list.

When is it?
The event typically falls on the last Thursday of the month from 6:30-9:30PM.

Where is it?
In DUMBO! We are open to any location in DUMBO as long as it can accommodate the size of the crowd.

Suggested Dumbo locations:
The Dumbo Loft, Galapagos Art Space, Powerhouse Books, and Smack Mellon.

How Much Does it Cost to Sponsor?
Provided upon request!

If I Decide to Sponsor, What’s the Next Step?
First contact Andrew Zarick (andrew@digitaldumbo.com) and Kaitlin Villanova (kaitlin@digitaldumbo.com) and let them know you are interested (at least one month in advance). We’ll then work with you to come up with a theme and we’ll handle all the little details so you won’t have to.

We encourage sponsorship creativity!
You are free to make the event “your own” meaning, in a style that represents your company.

Leading web services company, AOL, used Digital DUMBO to announce their new email product Project Phoenix. They hosted an ugly holiday sweater party, had a photo booth, and a prize giveaway.

Creative studio Hush featured video clips of their work running during the event and added some extra flavor with a VeeJay.

Web Development shop Purple Rock Scissors showcased their work with a projection screen but also did a raffle for branded skateboards – skateboarding is a big part of their office culture. On top of that, they had purple cocktails and purple hors d’oeuvres.

Social media agency Invoke Media included nametags with an answer to a question you were asked at the door, which made for some interesting and entertaining conversation starters (Example “What is the best hangover cure?” or “What are your digital turn-ons?”).

We give you absolute creative freedom to do whatever you want at the event, we just bring the community and help you along the way!
