The Position: Associate Creative Director, Interaction & Service Design

Associate Creative Directors oversee the daily activities of a team and cultivate an environment of sustained creativity and professional growth. The role focuses on providing teams with clear design direction, driving team effectiveness, and building client relationships, as well as supporting long term development of individuals.

For this role, we are looking for a strong creative systems thinker, who can stretch from service design to digital design. You can see the forest for the trees, and extrapolate from a single tree to a whole forest.


  • Manage day-to-day operations of an inter-disciplinary team, including setting priorities, assigning resources, and ensuring project goals are achieved.
  • Manage, mentor and inspire direct reports.
  • Oversee projects from inception to completion, reviewing project plans, designs, and deliverables. 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to meet project and team needs. 
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring designers. 
  • Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork. 
  • Establish and nurture good client working relationships. 
  • Participate in new business development activities.
  • Foster collaboration not only on project teams and within the design department, but across frog as a whole.

    You also bring to the organization the following competencies: 

  • At least 7 years of professional service design and digital product design experience 
  • Proven experience managing, training and mentoring junior designers
  • Strong understanding of Human Centered Design methods and processes
  • Comfortable planning, leading, and conducting human-centered design research
  • An ability to prioritize between business owners and internal priorities / constraints
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups at all levels of a client organization. 
  • Ability to negotiate and coordinate across multiple groups and disciplines  
  • An appreciation of the technical, organizational, and cultural challenges of complex service delivery and large scale transformation activities
  • Ability to move fluidly between service design and the craft of manifesting those services in the world, particularly in the form of digital products.
