Announcing – dd:IMPACT Conference
Over the past three years Digital DUMBO has grown from a small happy hour event into a premier community of over 9,000 digital thought leaders. As time has passed, we’ve seen Digital DUMBO transform from what was largely a DUMBO-based community to one that now includes people from all walks of life, professions, industries and locations, while still maintaining the spirit of innovation and culture that has become synonymous with DUMBO.
One of the most common questions we get is “Am I digital? Can I come to your events?” We jokingly respond “Do you have a cell phone? Do you have a laptop? You’re digital.” The fact of that matter is: We’re all digital. Digital is fundamentally disrupting, evolving, and progressing every business, every industry and our lifestyles.
Earlier this year, as we explored what was next for Digital DUMBO, our beliefs around “digital” became the basis of our brainstorming. As a starting point, we reached out to a few friends who we thought would add interesting perspectives and insight in developing the vision – Carrot Creative, AptNo7, The Couch Sessions, and Midnight Brunch. We’ve all been to or produced events and conferences in the past and have experienced the good, bad, and the ugly. If we were going to commit to doing a conference, we wanted to do something that embodied the culture of the Digital DUMBO community and facilitated open dialogue and discussion.
This led us to the concept of the digital-meets-lifestyle conference we’re proud to announce today: dd:IMPACT. The dd:IMPACT conference will be a half-day exploration of how digital has disrupted, evolved, progressed, and impacted key areas of lifestyle – music, food, fashion, and design.
Through our events we’ve had the opportunity to meet some amazing people. We’ve invited many of these industry leaders to participate on our panels. They represent brands like foursquare, Warby Parker, Foodspotting, Etsy, HypeMachine, Tasting Table, Brooklyn Industries, Svpply, Holstee, and more.
